Dr John Karalus



Dr John (Kobi) Karalus was a GP for 30 years but has had a long association with travel medicine. For the last 15 years he has been doing this exclusively bar a few pilot medicals as a CAA Medical Examiner and a few sessions per week of Occupational Health at Whangarei Hospital.

Travel medical experience includes:

  • Worked several years starting in 1976 at Sir Edmund Hillary's hospital at Phaplu in Nepal and still makes trips to that area

Dr Peter Allen

Dr Peter Allen has been a General Practitioner in Whangarei for over 30 years. In the last 10 years he has increased his interest in skin cancer and has gained extra skin cancer qualifications.

These include a Certificate of Skin Cancer Medicine, Certificate of Dermoscopy and a Diploma of Skin Cancer Medicine and Surgery through the Skin Cancer College of Australasia.

He works one day a week at Whangarei Hospital where he does a skin cancer clinic every Wednesday morning, and a surgical list every Wednesday afternoon.
